It was just short of magic!Watching the pieces of jewelry I designed from clay, then fired, transform into pure silver. After taking my first Metal Clay Class, I knew I needed to learn more about this amazing medium.
In 2005, I received my certifications to teach in two national programs in PMC, through Rio Grande and PMC Connection.

INTRODUCTION TO METAL CLAY
Introduction to Metal Clay: Curious about Metal Clay? This class was designed to offer basic instruction in metal clay techniques. Rolling, texturing, cutting and adding a bail to a pendant will be covered. You will complete your pendant by torch firing, tumbling to a high shine and adding a patina, if desired. No stone setting or inclusions, just metal clay. A perfect opportunity to get your hands into this medium, and have fun creating your one-of-a-kind pendant! Class meets for one five hour session. Basic Metal Clay
Basic Metal Clay Workshop: Learn how easy it is to cut, stamp and texture this clay into your own one of a kind earrings and pendant. You will learn how to set a stone, finishing and firing techniques and how to add a patina. Using 22 gauge silver wire you will learn how to add beads and findings to your earrings.
Class Fees:Tuition + Cost of Supplies: Supplies to be purchased by students include one 20 gram package of .999 fine silver Metal Clay, earwires, 1 foot 22 gauge sterling wire, 2-4 beads to attach to earrings, if desired, and a 4mm CZ . Tools, cutters and texture plates will be supplied for students use during class. Class fees and tuition will vary according to class location and the supplies that may be included in the class package. This is a 6 hour class. Class meets for one six hour session or 2 three hour sessions. Class size is limited to 6-8 students depending on location. Please register early as seating is limited.
Hollow Bead Forms, Syringe and Paper Clay
Advanced Metal Clay: Come join us ! Learn to make forms for hollow beads & cover with Metal Clay, then embellish your bead with Paper Clay appliques. You will learn syringe techniques by creating a pair of lacey earrings. Previous Metal Clay experience is necessary as the class moves quickly through the projects.
Class Fees: Tuition + Cost of Supplies . Supplies purchased ahead of class by students include: Package of Metal Clay (20 gram), One Syringe and One packet of Paper Clay. Tools and textures will be supplied by instructor for class use.
Advanced classes will meet for 2 evenings in a consecutive two week period. First evening, class will meet for 3 hours. Second evening, class will meet for 2 hours. For private instruction one 5 hour class may be scheduled. Total hours of instruction for Advanced Class is 5 Hrs.
